Arsenal finally made decision on Jack Wilshere's future

Image
The latest in Jack Wilshere’s wretched list of injuries was a hairline fracture to his left fibula, suffered in Bournemouth’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in April. It ended the 25-year-old’s season and prevented him from joining his Arsenal teammates on their pre-season tours of Australia and China. Wilshere’s latest setback even led to Arsene Wenger expressing his sorrow for the player once dubbed ‘the future of England’ by Xavi. “I’m sad about this injury because Jack is a great player with a great football brain,” Wenger said, per The Guardian. “His career has been stopped by many injuries. At the top level the most important thing is consistency. When a player has been out for a while, the game is of such an intensity that it always takes you a while to get your confidence back. “You have to be consistently present. When you look at all the players who are at the top level in the world like Cristiano Ronaldo, these guys play 50 or 60 games a year. They have the luck of not ...

I’m ready to spend 15 years at Manchester United – Mourinho

Image
Jose Mourinho has said he would like to remain Manchester United manager for another 15 years, but believes emulating Alex Ferguson is impossible. The Portuguese arrived at Old Trafford last season and led United to three trophies – the Europa League, EFL Cup and Community Shield – in his first campaign. Mourinho, 54, is prepared for 15 more years at the helm at United, but accepts success is a must. “I am ready for this. I am ready for the next 15, I would say. Here? Yes, why not?” he told ESPN FC. “I have to admit that it is very difficult because of the pressure around our jobs, everybody putting pressure on managers and things that people say – that we have to win, but in reality only one can win and every year it is getting more difficult. “But what I try to do in the club is show that my work goes further than the football results, that it goes to areas that people don’t think of as a manager’s job. In my vision, my job is much more than what I do on the pitch and the results t...

Milan must fight Juventus for Scudetto - Calhanoglu

Image
The Turkish international is optimistic on the Rossoneri project which has seen as many as ten players join in the transfer window… AC Milan have splashed over €200 million in the summer transfer window so far and their spending spree isn’t going to end soon with them expecting to rope in a star striker. This was after Yonghong Lee’s Chinese-led consortium Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux completed the takeover of the Milan giants. Following a disappointing pre-season outing in Guangzhou where they lost 3-1 to a strong Borussia Dortmund outfit, new signing Hakan Calhanoglu stated that the Chinese Revolution at the club is indeed a good project. “Yes, it is a good project. We have a new team. We need time to for the new players to (gel) with the old players. The first game is on the 27th (against CS U Craiova in Europa League). It was a good test for us against Dortmund. We play again against Bayern Munich. So we test against (the best) and afterwards we will see what comes,” said the...

Confirmed CAF confirmded AFCON moving to June

Image
CONFEDERATION of African Football president Ahmad confirmed that a new format and timing is being sought for the African Nations Cup as the game on the continent began a two- day symposium on Tuesday to discuss its future. “That is the first thing to talk about. We can’t get away from it. We have already had a lot of suggesions‚” he said as more than 200 delegates gathered for the discussions in the Moroccan capital. “We also want to talk about the club competitions. Africa has it particularities‚ like the great distances our clubs have to travel. Clubs having to travel via Europe to play games is folly. We need solutions” The symposium opened with formal addresses but split into workshops in the afternoon to discuss various aspects of the African game. Moving the Nations Cup finals to a date in June where it would no longer clash with the European club season is one recommendation that could be passed‚ as well as a possible expansion of the tournament to 24 teams. Sanchez is not for sale

Image
Alexis Sanchez can lead Arsenal back into the Champions League and will not be sold by the club, says Arsene Wenger, Skysports reports. Sanchez told Chilean media he wants to play in Europe’s top competition, which the Gunners failed to qualify for after their fifth-placed Premier League finish, and that a decision over his future rests with Arsenal. Wenger remains adamant Sanchez will not be leaving the Emirates this summer, though, revealing the club’s stance is already clear. “The decision has been made and we will stick to that,” Wenger said of Sanchez, who is still a target for Manchester City according to Sky sources. “The decision is not to sell.” Wenger, whose side are preparing for a pre-season game against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, played down Sanchez’s comments regarding Champions League football. “I don’t give too much importance to things that are translated, you know,” he added. “The whole interview that I got didn’t really mean that. “The main focus for us is to concen...

Juan mata named his Manchester united XI from.the era of Premier league(See list)

Some of the greatest players in history have walked through the doors at Old Trafford. When you think Manchester United, you think success. Okay, so life post-Ferguson has been tough. But last season, which delivered EFL Cup and Europa League trophies, is a sign that Jose Mourinho is ready to return Man United to the glory days of yesteryear. Romelu Lukaku’s transfer proves that finishing sixth in the table doesn’t prevent players from choosing Man United. The Belgian had the chance to sign for the Premier League champions, Chelsea, but opted to join Mourinho’s rebuilding project instead. Paul Pogba, too, decided to swap Champions League football at Juventus for the Europa League at Man United. It’s the Red Devils’ history and commercial activities that ensured their miserable period under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal wasn’t the end of the club’s successful run. And with Lukaku now on board, Man United are expected to compete for the title this season. Mata names his Man United gre...

Five key questions facing Real Madrid ahead of next season

Image
Considering 2016-17 was Real Madrid's best season in over half a century, the initial plan was for a few gentle tweaks to Zinedine Zidane's squad as they enjoyed a longer summer break than usual due to the lack of a major international competition this year. However, things rarely go completely smoothly around the Santiago Bernabeu, so Zidane and club chief Florentino Perez have these five things to sort out before the 2017-18 campaign kicks off. 1. Cristiano Ronaldo's tax issue still to be resolved The storm that materialised in June after Cristiano Ronaldo let it be known that he wanted to leave Spain in reaction to being called to a Madrid court to answer allegations of a €14.7 million tax fraud has quieted lately. But the issue has not yet been resolved, and will still require careful management in the boardroom by Perez and dressing room by Zidane. The leaks and hints from Ronaldo's camp have been fewer and quieter recently, although it was made clear that last ...

Madrid told chelsea how much these two transfers will cost them

Image
Chelsea are set to travel to Beijing this week ahead of their first official pre-season friendly against Arsenal on Saturday. Despite being Premier League champions, Antonio Conte’s side made a very slow start in the summer transfer window. However, things are starting to look more positive for the Blues with Willy Caballero, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger all arriving at Stamford Bridge. But Chelsea aren’t finished there. The west London club desperately need a striker to replace Diego Costa - who has been told he can leave the club by Conte. That striker was supposed to be Romelu Lukaku but Manchester United beat Chelsea to his signature. Now, it seems Conte has set his sights on Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. Chase for Morata Conte actually signed Morata for Juventus and the Spaniard appeared set to join United before they snapped up Luakaku. Instead of reuniting with Mourinho, it looks as though Morata will be reuniting with Conte. But it’s not just a striker that Chelsea want...

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart joins West Ham on loan

Image
England goalkeeper Joe Hart has joined West Ham United on a season-long loan from Manchester City. Hart will join up with Slaven Bilic's squad for their preseason training camp in Austria and Germany. He could then face City in a preseason friendly in Iceland in August, although he cannot play against his parent club in Premier League fixtures. It is the second season-long loan deal for Hart, who spent the last campaign with Italian club Torino. "It's important for me to play football and to get the opportunity to come here and play is absolutely awesome," Hart told West Ham's website. "To be playing in the Premier League for a big club like West Ham, I'm really looking forward to the season. "I've always loved the club. I think you'll struggle to find anyone, apart from the direct opposing fans around London, who doesn't love the club. It's got something about it, it's got a lot history and I've always loved playing against W...

5 players that were not included in chelsea pre season tour

Image
It’s always interesting to see which players have been left out of their respective club’s pre-season tour. Of course, there can be several reasons for their absence such as being given an extended break due to them playing in a summer tournament or the simple fact that they’re injured. However, whenever a player is left out of a pre-season tour, fans instantly fear that it’s because of an impending transfer. So, when Chelsea named their squad for their trip to Beijing, there must have been a few worried supporters. As expected, Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic have been left out as they attempt to negotiate a move away from the club. Meanwhile, new signings Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger will also be absent. Bakayoko has arrived with a minor knee injury and hasn’t been able to train so far. As for Rudiger, he has been granted an extended break having helped win the Confederations Cup for Germany. The defender will join up with the squad in Singapore next week. But there’s another p...

Ryan Giggs names the three players that need to improve if Ivan Perisic joins Manchester United

Image
Transfer windows are a very exciting time for clubs and their fans.  Already this summer, we've seen a number of huge deals involving Premier League teams.  Manchester City made Kyle Walker the most expensive Englishman ever, landing him from rivals Tottenham for £50 million.  Defending champions Chelsea have signed two new men so far - Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko have boosted Antonio Conte's side. It's unlikely that they're done there because striker Diego Costa is expected to leave this summer, so a replacement forward must be brought in. Then there's Manchester United. It's fair to say Jose Mourinho's side have had an interesting transfer window. The former Chelsea boss pipped his old club to the signing of Romelu Lukaku, who move to Old Trafford from Everton for £75 million. The Red Devils have also signed Victor Lindelof, strengthening their back line. But like the Blues, it's suggested that they want to do even more business. One player th...

Sadio Mane set to resume full first team training

Image
The 25-year-old winger will join his team-mates in when they return from Hong Kong next week Sadio Mane is set to resume full first team training after recovering from a knee injury, after being left out of the Red’s squad for their Asia tour. The Senegal international suffered a season ending injury on April 13th during a 3-1 victory over Everton, requiring surgery later that same month. But now Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Senegalese star will begin full training next week: “Sadio is on the way back. The plan is he will come with us to Germany.” He told club website “The plan is he trains completely normally with us when we are back in England. ““We have been waiting long enough for him now! He is around [Melwood] all of the time and is in pretty good shape. “Unfortunately he was not ready to train, but he looked good, [the injury] looks good and so now he should be fine when we get back.” Liverpool will play Hertha Berlin on the 29th of July and Bayern Munic...
