Footballer dies in road accident, four injured
A fatal accident involving Abkama Football Club of Borno has claimed the life of Umaru Musa Bature.
Four players who were seriously injured in the attack are currently receiving treatment at the Government General Hospital in Darazo, Bauchi state.
The accident took place on Friday on their way to honour a Nationwide League division two game against Gombe Lions.
The vehicle reportedly suffered a punctured tyre at the rear thereby forcing it to somersault into the bush.
The league secretariat has mandated all the clubs in the Nationwide League to maintain a minute silence across all the match venues this weekend in honour of the late player.
Meanwhile, all the matches in the Nationwide League division two have been suspended due to the accident.
