Tottenham table bid for real madrid midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur have kick started their summer transfer business with a £22m bid for Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic reports in Spain have confirmed.
Aside from selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City last week, the London club is yet to do any buying in the transfer window but Mauricio Pochettino has now set his sight on bringing in Kovacic from Real Madrid.
Unfortunately for Spurs, their initial £22m bid has been knocked back by Real Madrid and they will have to come up with an improved bid if they are to secure the services of the Croatian midfield star.
Spanish media outlet AS say Spurs
havemade their first move for the ace.
It also states that Mauricio Pochettino “wants Kovacic to become the cornerstone” of his side.
Poch who has been piping low before now has plenty of cash to spend after selling right-back Walker to Manchester City last week.
However, Spurs face competition for the star from in the form of Italian sides Inter, AC Milan and Napoli.
Both Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and the player are currently happy with the current situation.
