Wenger focused to land third summer signing
Arsenal are focused on trying to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco this summer, according to reports
Arsene Wenger is determined to try and land Thomas Lemar from Monaco this summer as he looks to bolster his Arsenal squad, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Wenger is determined to try and land the 21-year-old France international from his former club this summer, in a move which could “pave the way” for Alexis Sanchez to leave.
The same story claims that Arsenal have already had two bids turned down for Lemar but that Wenger is likely to return with a third bid for the midfielder.
The article also suggests that Wenger has now given up hope of Arsenal signing the 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe from the French club this summer.
The story also says that Arsenal are confident that both Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will commit their futures to the north London club, despite them both being in the final year of their contracts at The Emirates.
Arsenal have so far only signed left-back Sead Kolasinac and striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer as Wenger looks to try and steer his team to a Premier League title challenge next season.
